Tigers NRL trainer contracts COVID-19

Wests Tigers have been forced to cancel NRL training after one of the club’s trainers tested positive to COVID-19.

The Tigers were informed on Thursday morning that a member of their football staff had contracted the virus.

The Tigers’ full squad had been back in training, however at this stage none of the players have tested positive.

It comes weeks after Manly prop Josh Aloiai became the first NRL player to catch COVID-19, however he was not yet back in pre-season training.

It means the Tigers’ case is the first inside an NRL training hub.

The news also forced the Tigers to cancel a school visit to rugby league nursery St Gregory’s College at Campbelltown on Thursday.
