    48. Ndombele gets stuck straight in by winning a free-kick right on the edge of the box for a foul from Sarr.

Son and Ndombele like the look of the angle.

But it’s the Englishman that hits it and Kepa has to make a standard save to his right.

  • All change here

Timo Werner has come on for Kai Havertz, wonder how many chances Timo can miss in 45 minutes instead of 90.

And Conte has shuffled around his defence with midfielder Ndombele entering the disaster zone for Matt Doherty.

Spurs’ back five has now become a four – who on earth knows if that can help.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

Tottenham are definitely missing Eric Dier but I am not sure how much he will be missing these team-mates.

Conte will earn his wages with the changes he makes in the coming minutes.

Chelsea have enough talent on the bench to make it even more difficult later in the game.

And Lukaku will want to make up for his missed chance.

Hugo Lloris might want to think about faking a cough and shooting off home before this gets out of hand.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

The second goal is a calamity.

A lack of communication, a lack of composure and a whiff of comedy.

Tanganga had the time to chest the ball down and boot it into row z.

But he panicked and headed it into Ben Davies’ poor unsuspecting face.

You would be disppointed to let your mates conjure that up in your sunday side.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

Any Tottenham player who survives the break will consider themselves lucky.

With just 31 per cent possessionm and ZERO attempts on goal, the visitors have stunk the Bridge out.

Havertz has definitely been awarded the opener but it was still shocking stuff from Spurs.

This does not look a defence that is desperate to play out from the back and dictate play.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

    47. Plucky little Lucas Moura does his best to invent a chance right on the whistle but he gets no support and loses it.

The referee does call an interval so Spurs’ shellshocked men can catch a breath and a rollocking.

There is not much on the bench for Conte to play with so he might have to come up with something ingenous on the tactics board.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

    45. If this was a boxing match the referee would be having a very close look and wondering whether to stop this battering.

Tottenham look to have returned to the the dark old pre-Conte days.

It’s a surprise the fiery little Italian has managed to keep his hair on so far as his side has reeked.

Expect big changes at the break, if not in personnel then surely in tactics and effort.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

    41. It should be 3-0 and all done but Lukaku heads a perfect chance wide.

Ziyech is afforded all of the Kings Road to pick out a cross.

It lands on the scolded Belgian’s head but the connection is rubbish and the ball slices wide.

Woeful defending from Spurs, they get away with another one there.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

    39. Finally a moment of quality from Spurs as Sanchez glides past a couple of Chelsea midfielders and creates an attack.

Emerson gets a deep cross in that Doherty heads into the danger zone.

But Kepa eventually grabs the ball and calms down his defence that must have been shocked by the first sniff of pressure in 40 mins.

  • Chelsea 2 Spurs 0

    36. Tanganga was under no pressure at all and could have headed the ball anywhere.

Inexplicably he nodded straight against his team-mate and it cannoned in their own goal.

Dismal defending from a side that looks lost in West London and needs to get back North ASAP.

  • Chelsea 2 Tottenham 0

    34. Farcical football as Tottenham crash in a definite own goal.

Whipped in free-kick that Tanganga heads against Davies and past Lloris.

Slapstick football from a terrible Tottenham team.

Two nil and more to come it feels.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

33 Rudiger misses a decent chance from a corner after nobody from Tottenham fancies marking him.

Chelsea keep the ball and whip across a couple more until Mount gets a chance to wrap his foot around it.

Lloris dives out and catches the bouncing ball on the bounce before a Blue attacker can finish.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

31 Hojbjerg and Skipp getting the runaround in central midfield, Kane isolated up front and sweet FA happening out wide.

Tottenham’s embattled defence only conceding one so far os probably the best part of their game so far.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    27. Lukaku gallops down the right with the ball but takes a tumble and Spurs fans cheer and jeer as he and the ball roll out of play.

Tottenham loop a log ball forward that Kane chases down but Rudiger volleys casually back to his keeper.

This is a tough watch for Tottenham fans.

Chelsea playing playground football at times.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

21 Finally a Tottenham attack appears.

    And ends almost as quickly…

Doherty sneaks down the left and switches play to Emerson but his dismal ‘pass’ to Kane dribbles into Kepa.

Chelsea with 81 per cent possession in the last 10 mins.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    18. After about 3,100 unchallenged passes, Ziyech is given the time and space to bend a shot at goal.

The left-footed effort thankfully for Spurs goes high and wide but it’s another worrying passage of play for the visitors.

Even when Tottenham nick the ball back, they simply cannot keep it.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    17. Only a matter of time before Chelsea score again.

It looks like a training game between the first team and reserves.

The home team are pinging passes arounf and launching occasional attacks.

Spurs are getting all 11 men behind the ball but pressing poorly and offering no counter.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    12. Post pinged by Kai Havertz after Tottenham gift him a free shot.

Hare-brained defending from Spurs leaves the German with the ball and acres of space.

But he snatches at his shot, allowing Kepa and the post to keep it out of the net.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    12. Moura with a blatant foul on Sarr and a theatrical clain of innonce.

Chelsea are knocking it about now like the superior side.

Even Saul Niguez is having a go.

Havertz hits the post after even more laughable defending.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    8. Havertz has hurt his hand in the making or the celebrating of the goal and is getting treatment.

Spurs finally have a bit of the ball until Kane is fairly tackled.

A clumsy start from Spurs and a ruthless opening for Chelsea.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    7. Tottenham caught playing keep-ball across their back line, Tanganga and Emerson Royal make a total hash of things.

Havertz dives in and drives a cross into the box.

Sanchez tries to slash it away but it rockets into the roof of the visitors’ net.

It might go down as a Havertz goal as it looked on target.

  • Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

    5. GOAL Chelsea.

The Blues have piled on the pressure and Davinson Sanchez hacks a cross into his own goal.

  • Chelsea 0 Spurs 0

    2. ‘Champions of Europe, we know what we are’. Rings out around Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea get a free kick in a good spot on the right by Mount balloons is poorly out for a throw.

Chelsea remain on the attack, wave after wave now. Spurs yet to have any real control of the ball.

  • Chelsea 0 Spurs 0

    1. Moura kicks us off, Chelsea reclaim possession swiftly.

Lukaku gets a chance down the right but cannot find an early pass.

The shaven-headed striker comes complete with beard tonight, means business.

  • Tuchel gutted

The covid tests that have cost Chelsea the services of Kante and Silva have left their manager reeling.

Tuchel said: “It’s huge for us as they’re two key players.

“We had the information only this morning so it’s challenging but we’ll push the players who are here to the maximum.”
