Spain won’t call general election until December 2023, confirms PM

SPAIN’S Prime Minister has confirmed that the subsequent common election in Spain received’t be held till December 2023.

In an interview with Espejo Publico on Antena 3, Pedro Sanchez stated he wished Spain to return to the norm of getting elections each 4 years and subsequently they’d happen in December 2023. 

As voting day historically takes place on a Sunday he reassured Spaniards that the chosen date wouldn’t be December 24 or December 31 when households get collectively to have fun Noche vieja and Nochebuena (Christmas Eve) and Nochevieja (New Year’s Eve).

The final common election, when Spain selected its parliamentarians for the 350-seat Congress , in addition to 208 of the 266 seats within the Senate, befell in November 2019.

During the interview Sanchez stated that Spain was getting ready to reopen its embassy in Kyiv.

“Shortly, in a few days, we will reopen the Embassy of Spain in Kyiv, as a sign of Spain’s commitment to the people of Ukraine,” he stated.
