Chapters Bookstore on Parnell Street will close its doors early in 2022 after almost 40 years in business, it has been announced.
Housed on two floors, Chapters has sold an extensive range of new and second-hand books, and was a popular location for its thousands of bargain-priced titles and jigsaws.
Established in 1983, Ireland’s largest independent bookstore has been in various locations around Dublin over the years, including Wicklow Street, St Stephen’s Green and Abbey Street, taking up location at Parnell Street since 2006.
William Kinsella, the owner, has thanked customers old and new for supporting the shop over the past 40 years. Mr Kinsella announced that a 2-for-1 closing down sale on current stock will commence from today.
